I am an early career researcher undertaking a PhD at Bristol Veterinary School and Bristol Medical School’s Centre for Population Health Sciences. I am primarily working on the One Health AMR Research Data Platform which seeks to bring together disparate data sources pertinent to the understanding of transmission and selection of antimicrobial resistance between animals, humans, and their shared environments. In order to achieve this, we are bringing clarity to the legal, social, and technical context in which data routinely captured by veterinarians, farmers, and others may be safely shared with researchers, and building tools to protect, harmonise, link, and analyse these data.
I also have a background and interest in Software Engineering Research - specifically use of Search Based Software Engineering for software regression test suite optimisation, under the supervision of Dr Chris Simons. This, coupled with over a decade of experience as a software and data professional in a wide variety of data-intensive industries leads me to a particular interest in the balance of novel exploration and reliable operation within data science research.
